Mamadou Soma is an actor and theatre director from Burkina Faso. Having finished his studies at Centre Culturel Gambidi, in Ouagadougou, he pursued his studies doing a Master at Accademia Dimitri, in Verscio, Ticino. SINI is his thesis work and opened on the 13th May 2022, followed by a touring season.

With a focus on the future, SINI examines the past and questions where we went wrong. Like a modern-day researcher, he tries to build a home for himself away from society so he can finally live a life of dignity without having to wait for handouts from ‘Santa Clause’. On his construction site, SINI looks for a new form or way that can allow his home to resist the phenomena of nature and men. He builts and deconstructs to the point of exhaustion. Tired of and angry with this perpetual and permanent recommencement and with no trust in the living – he decides to summon the dead to understand and find a solution to this absurd life. Will he find the answers? Will he succeed in this construction?
